The Impact You'll Make

Join Lam as team lead Electrical Engineering and you'll be at the forefront, designing and developing electrical solutions for advanced applications. Your role involves organizing the team of engineers, enabling standarization and modularization, driving documentation and production support to enable high volume production as well as finding creative solutions to serve the needs of our customers.

In this role, you will directly contribute to the future of Lam's Kallisto and Phoenix products.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the design and development of highly complex electrical systems, sub-systems, and/or solutions, applying engineering methods to design.
  • Contribute to research and development efforts for future products by collecting and analyzing data to improve electrical system designs.
  • Develops functional specifications for highly complex electrical/ electro-mechanical systems and power distribution components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering design teams to design and modify custom and OEM system components.
  • Organize and perform hands-on test and validation utilizing lab equipment to characterization of the performance of the electrical/ electro-mechanical systems.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, analysis, and results to diverse audiences in design reviews.
  • Act as a resource and mentor for more junior colleagues.

Who We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 6+ years' experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Leadership experience and able to guide and manage a team of engineers.
  • Hands-on experience in electric machinery and equipment engineering, signal and controls theory, development and associated electrical cabinet design, troubleshooting and validation.
  • Understanding of AC/DC Power distribution systems.
  • In depth system level understanding of Electrical architecture, system integration, and applications.
  • Excellent working knowledge in high and low voltage power distribution systems
  • Proven knowledge in controls engineering design using PLC, IO-controllers, servo drive technolog as well as fluidic-components (pumps, valves,...).
  • Expertise in application of power and controls technologies for systems automation.
  • Knowledgeable in CAD/CAE tools for electrical design and simulation (e.g., Eplan, ZUKEN, AutoCAD, WS-CAD, PCAD, ORCAD, Spice, ADS, HFSS).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to define functional requirements and execute in a dynamic team environment.
  • Familiar with design for serviceability, manufacturability, reliability.
  • Highly proficient at troubleshooting systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting with problem-solving techniques such as 5-why, 8D, fishbones, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including technical presentations.
  • Experience in semiconductor industry or related (industrial, automotive, military).
